PWR Health Consultants Inc. is a recognized leader in the design
and implementation of programs that return individuals who are ill,
injured or disabled to life activity and to work in a safe and timely
manner.

Our acronym, PWR, stands for Prevention, Wellness and Rehabilitation.  PWR Health Consultants integrates these activities with diagnosis and treatment, the traditional skills of a physician. Next, we add a feedback loop from adverse outcomes to prevention.
Together, these six activities - prevention, wellness, rehabilitation,
diagnosis and treatment, and feedback loops -- are the foundation
of PWR's approach to safe and timely return to function and return
to work.

PWR services

PWR provides the following clinical services to individuals:

  • Clinical services to individuals.  Through PWR's specialized approach, individuals are empowered to identify and resolve barriers that prevent a return to life activities and to work.

  • Consultation to employers. PWR designs injury prevention
and rehabilitation programs for the workplace. PWR can
identify direct and hidden costs of ill health and accidents
and help align occupational health objectives with business
    strategies.

  • Consultation to the public sector and communities. PWR
provides leadership and facilitates multi-stakeholder partnerships that aim to close the gaps between the needs
of individuals and the health care system.

Benefits of PWR programs

PWR programs benefit:

  • Individuals: by identifying and removing barriers to full
functioning in life activities and the workplace.

  • Workplaces: by cutting unnecessary health costs, supporting
an investment in people and facilitating access to health care.

  • Communities: by identifying and removing barriers to
    effective interaction between community stakeholders.

  • Governments: by creating a cohesive and coordinated policy
approach to return to function and to work.

PWR's approach is based on the return to function/return to work
policies that have been adopted by the Ontario Medical
Association and the Canadian Medical Association. Dr. Lisa
Doupe, Principal of PWR Health Consultants, was instrumental in
developing both landmark policies.
